Celestial Travelers has been online since 1998. It started with one page and a cool java applet representing the "tunnel" described in the testimony of so many "near death experiencers." The original concept was aimed at the "skeptic verses believer" debate. A debate which has its roots in history. The idea for the web site's name is derived from a quotation found in scripture.
There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another." 1 Corinthians 15:40
The idea, concept and debate of the eternal soul and/or spirit has been
around since the conception of the science of metaphysics. The invention of
the Internet opened up an avenue of expression for the testimony of ordinary
- everyday - people to share their personal experiences with others.
Something I felt was taboo in the past. It is hard to express something
beyond ordinary perception to the ears and minds of those who lack their own
personal experience with the "afterlife" realm of the celestial divide.
Movies have been a positive avenue of expression to get the message out. The
underlining theme of the "Wizard of Oz" has a deep mystical parallel to the
testimony of 'near death experiencers.' The good and bad witch. The
'munchkins' and flying monkeys. Dark forces and obstacles in the path of the
yellow brick road. The search for heart, courage, and wisdom. Getting a peek
behind the hidden veil to find the "true face" of the "God like voice" which
had deceived the perceptive senses prior to the one on one encounter.
Dorothy waking up to find out she had been returned to Kansas again.
Another parallel expression was in the work of Lewis in the Adventures of
Alice in Wonderland.
The first movie I watched which dealt with the 'near death experience' in a
very direct fictional manner was titled Resurrection. It was released in
1980.
Another movie which deals with the theme of the 'near death experience' in
an indirect way - is the movie Contact.
It is beyond words to describe. Sometimes truth has to be found written
between the lines. Either in books or in movies.
The overwhelming message from all who have had the experience is one of
"Unconditional Love."
The "Spirit of our Soul's Creation," much like Oz, is a very nice and
loving being of divine and eternal essence. An essence hidden within us all.
